Umbrella Workshops
The Stuff of Life Festival is taking place at Hedley Park, Hedley Street, Sherwood Rise on Saturday 11th October from 12 to 6pm. Everyone is welcome to attend and entry is free. Organised by the Sherwood Rise Residents’ Association, the festival is an opportunity to meet other residents and celebrate the creative and diverse community we all live in. At 4pm a procession will commence from the park along neighbouring streets (accompanied by stewards) and we’d like children from the area to join the parade and carry decorated umbrellas alongside the drummers. To facilitate this two umbrella decorating workshops have been organised for the children:
Thursday 9 October from 4 to 7 pm at the SUMAC centre, Gladstone Street. For children aged 5 to 15 years. Under 8s must be accompanied by an adult. Free but booking is essential.
Saturday 11 October at Hedley Park from 12 to 3.30 pm. This is a drop-in workshop and children are welcome… until the umbrellas run out! (5 – 15 years and under 8’s must be accompanied by an adult). Booking not necessary.
I am providing all the materials (thanks to IKEA for their help with the umbrellas). I have been CRB checked and have Public Liability Insurance. To book a place on the first workshop, please download and complete the slip below and return it to me at the address on the slip.
