The application for a review of the licence of the Elm Tree Inn has been submitted by Derek Moss from the “noise pollution”/environmental health department. The Council will now have to display a notice regarding this for two weeks, which contains details of what residents can do to help the licence be revoked. Please find a a copy of the notice below. I shall certainly be putting something to the authority in writing at the least, and the more people who pass on their experience of the pub in writing or in person at the hearing, the better, so get writing!

I am horrified to hear what has happened to the Elm Tree. My parents Steve and Derry Dalton ran the pub for 2 years between 1987-89 before my father passed away. I enjoyed 2 of the happiest years of my childhood living above the pub. I remember it being the hub of the community and had many wonderful people from all ages socialising there. It is a time I will never forget. It saddens me to hear what has happened to the place now, but how it was and all the wonderful memories I hold dear to my heart will stay with me forever.
